Challenge:
A powder coating facility in Alberta needed a large-format CV hook to hang oversized parts on their racking system. The customer had no drawings or CAD file—only a rough sketch with approximate dimensions of 3 inches wide and 14.5 inches long. They required a sturdy hook that could support the weight and geometry of their product while maintaining clearance during coating and curing.
Solution:
Using the sketch and a few follow-up measurements, ACR Hooks created a prototype that matched both the width and length requirements. Photos and revisions were shared back and forth for fine-tuning, allowing the customer to confirm fitment without slowing down production.
Results:
After the prototype was approved, full production began and the new jumbo CV hooks quickly became part of the customer’s daily workflow. This project showcased how simple sketches can be converted into functional tooling solutions without the need for formal drawings or lengthy engineering cycles.
