Another Customer Success Story: Reproducing a Legacy Racking Hook for Powder Coating
Challenge:
A powder coating facility in Toronto, Ontario needed to source replacement hooks for a legacy racking system built years ago. The hook design was specific to that setup and had no available drawings or specs. The only reference provided was a physical sample. Due to their volume requirements, the hook needed to match strength, angles, length and overall form to ensure it would integrate seamlessly into their existing production workflow.
Solution:
Using the provided sample, our team reverse-engineered the hook geometry, captured all key bend dimensions, and produced a prototype using our CNC wire bending process. No modifications were required to the customer’s racking system: the new hook matched their existing part in fit and function. The prototype was completed and delivered within a few days for review and testing.
Results:
The customer confirmed the reproduced hook provided the same strength and performance characteristics as their legacy hooks and approved it immediately for production. A full order was placed shortly after. This design is now continuously stocked at ACR Hooks for ongoing fulfillment, supporting the customer’s high-volume powder coating operations.
